Genetics of Absolute Pitch Study

Welcome to our study on the genetic basis of absolute pitch. The purpose of this study is to discover the genetic variants that underlie this rare perceptual ability. Everyone is welcome to enter the study, regardless of whether he or she has absolute pitch (also known as perfect pitch). Participation in the study requires two aspects: a brief survey, which consists of six short parts (contact, demographic, musical training, pitch identification, family history, and other information), followed by an acoustical test, which consists of 40 piano tones and 40 pure tones.

Please note that you will need to enter the study through a computer, not an iPad or iPhone, as the acoustical test employs Flash and that you will not be able to take the acoustical test without first filling in the survey information.

Thank you for your interest and participation in this study! You can contact us at e-mail:
